Birthday Pony is what happens when two music snobs in small-town Minnesota lock themselves in a flood-prone basement until they craft songs so difficult to play they have to quit drinking, and it's never advisable to deprive someone in a small town of alcohol—unless absolutely necessary. And yes, they named themselves after the Fugazi song.
