Shallos
Shallos owes its experimental nature to Dave, who lent Mark his Tascam 4-track for almost three years. Some songs were incorporated into Reverse, Dave and Mark's band at the time. Others, however, didn't fit the band's aesthetic and became Mark's solo project.
The project evolved from rough ideas to complex compositions involving piano and strings, drawing inspiration from the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra's Liquid Music series, which paired classical and indie musicians.
